Quality Basic and Applied Research
The Center for Scientific-Technological Research Support, known by the acronym CACTI, is a commitment by the University of Vigo to quality basic and applied research at the national and international level since 1991.CACTI Center for Scientific-Technological Research Support at the University of Vigo
Equipped with unique equipment, it provides support to universities, companies, and technology centers.
CACTI’s objective is the acquisition, management, and centralized use of large scientific equipment with the vocation of providing scientific and technological support to members of the University Community as well as Public Research Organizations (PRO), at the national and international level, and private entities in our environment.
CACTI covers the most cutting-edge services in scientific research: Structural Determination, Proteomics and Genomics, Nanotechnology and Surface Analysis, Electron Microscopy, Sustainable Development and Food Safety (at the Vigo and Ourense campuses), Remote Sensing, Machining Workshop, and Technical Assistance and Calibration Service, SATYCEL.
1st Meeting of CAIs-SCT – Research Support Centers – Scientific-Technical Services
Research Conference
Within the framework of the 31st Sectoral Conference on R&D of Spanish Universities of CRUE, which this year is held in Vigo, the 1st National Meeting of Research Support Centers – Scientific and Technical Services (CAIs-SCT) is organized.
This meeting was born with the objective of creating a space for collaboration between CAI-SCTs, sharing experiences, identifying common solutions, and advancing towards the establishment of a National Network that promotes professionalization, innovation, and institutional dialogue of these essential research services.

Thus, CACTI at its two locations in Vigo and Ourense, is configured as a center endowed with a very high research infrastructure unmatched in our geographical environment.
VISITS TO CACTI
Institutes, vocational training centers, public organizations, and entities can request a guided tour of CACTI’s services. The maximum capacity per organization or entity is 25 people and the maximum duration is 1h:45min. Visits will be on the last Friday of each month (except August and December) in the morning, from 10:00h to 11:45h and from 12:00h to 13:45h.

AENOR certifies that the Center for Scientific-Technological Research Support (CACTI) of the University of Vigo has a quality management system according to the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
