Machining

The Machining Unit is designed to offer, both to the University Community and to other research centers and external companies, the possibility of designing and manufacturing from unitary parts (one or several) to the realization of mechanical projects and prototypes through manufacturing procedures by machining (chip removal), with conventional and CNC machine tools.

Instrumental Facilities
  • DMG MORI 3-axis + 2-axis CNC machining center, model CMX70U
  • Lagun GVM 5-SP model spot milling machine.
  • PINACHO parallel lathe model S-90/200
  • HM MB/700 sheet metal nailer
  • ERLO CR/30 model column trade.
  • Superbrown Miter Saw Model 350/60.
  • Heller parallel lathe model CE460/1000
  • FORTEX FTX-200-EM PRO Column Electric Grinder
  • MG band saw model K-370-SA.

Applications

Design and Manufacturing of Parts, Prototypes and Projects related to research:

  • Fluid conduction elements.
  • Vacuum parts.
  • Antenna Mounts.
  • Weights for calorimeters.
  • Heating blocks for chemical reactions.
  • Marine research equipment; incubation chambers, test extractors… etc.
  • Chemical corrosion reactors.
  • Immobilizers and traps.
  • Boat rotators.
  • CNC machining of parts for the aerospace sector.
  • Mechanical elements in general.
Sample requirements

A brief description of the work to be carried out must be sketched. Otherwise, it may be necessary for the workshop to carry out a new project with its respective number of hours.

The laboratory equipment and instruments received by the workshop must be properly sterilized in order to avoid risks to the health and safety of people.
